A little wedding action at Target Field – Kailee Trogstad

Being the Target Field Events intern, I sometimes feel very ‘out of the loop’ when it comes to the Twins games, since most of my time takes place when the Twins are not at the stadium.

When the twins are out of town, there are no 9:00 to 5:00 work days. My schedule is all over the place; I’ll have to come in at 5:00 am one day, work twelve hours, sleep a few hours, then go back to work another event until 1:00 am the following day.

But I love it. It can be difficult for me when the team is in town, because there are typically no events. However, I can’t complain about being able to catch up on desk work and do numerous site visits on game days. These past couple of months has been incredibly crazy. But, there is one event that sticks out that I really enjoyed working.

Target Field Events and J.B. Hudson partnered together and came up with a ‘Back To The Diamond’ sweepstakes where engaged couples had the chance to win $10,000 in wedding rings from J.B. Hudson, a Grand Slam ceremony and reception package from Target Field Events, and $4,000 in catering services from Delaware North Company.

Because the participants had to already be engaged, some couples had ceremony and reception venues selected and even had down payments at their locations. Fortunately, our winning couple had chosen August 4th; a date where we, surprisingly, had no other events planned in the stadium.

As soon as our winners were chosen by the public, event planning immediately began since their selected date was only a month away. I was given the opportunity to coordinate the entire ceremony and reception, all on my own, and be the only day-of event coordinator. This was a fairly large event to take on, with 250 guests and people moving throughout the stadium. However, the event went on without any hiccups and the couple told me their day was absolutely perfect.
